Why Do You Exist?
Why Do You Exist?
Why Do You Exist? (Second Edition) is an artist book that begins in January of 2017 when Kory was nearing college graduation and had little idea what he wanted to do with his life. He was questioning the standard path our society has laid out before him. He was questioning his identity, and his existence. He was questioning everything.
During this period, he realized that he had never given himself space from his friends and family’s influences. He realized that he wasn’t being true to himself. He realized that he didn’t even know his true self. So, he did what he would do, if he only had a year to live.
He sold 70% of his belongings, and moved onto his bike. Behind his bike, was a trailer, gear, a surfboard, the words “Why do you exist?,” and a dream to teach himself how to surf while biking down the entire west coast of the U.S.. While he was pedaling south on the 101, surfing the pacific, and listening to strangers from around the world answer his question, he found a side of himself he never knew existed.
Inside the book you’ll find his raw journal entries, portraits of the people he met, and photos of the sights he saw.
